I had the pleasure of meeting former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair in 2018 at a dinner party where he talked about the importance of both pragmatism and of taking a global perspective in defining policy. Both points resonated deeply with me, and at the party, I learned about his Institute for Global Change that he set up to push this vision.
When the institute began an Associate Fellowship program to bring outside perspectives into their work on how policy and technology should intersect, I jumped at the chance to participate and became an Associate Fellow in early 2020. I’ve since enjoyed working with different members of their Technology and Public Policy teams on a variety of topics ranging from food technology to healthcare. Below is a sample of some of the work I did with the Institute
- “Combatting Vaccine Misinformation in the Age of the Internet” [PDF] (Dec 2020)
- “A Shot in the Arm for Platform Integrity” (Dec 2020)
- “The Role of Digital Technology in Combating Chronic Disease” (Feb 2021) [PDF]
- “Creating the Future” (Jan 2022)
