I had the pleasure of meeting former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair in 2018 at a dinner party where he talked about the importance of both pragmatism and the importance of taking a global perspective in defining policy. At the party, I learned about his Institute for Global Change that he set up to push this vision and met an Executive Director of the Institute who I stayed in touch with.
When the institute began an Associate Fellowship program to bring outside perspectives into their work on how policy and technology should intersect, I jumped at the chance to participate and became an Associate Fellow in early 2020. I’ve since enjoyed working with different members of their Technology and Public Policy teams on a variety of topics ranging from food technology to healthcare.
